What it means: Kirby Smart had a close relationship with Jaden Hunter long before he committed to the Bulldogs. So when Smart took over as head man in Athens, Hunter was one of many prospects who was eager to come along with him.
That move combined the two things that Hunter wanted - Kirby and UGA, where his father was a star receiver in the mid 1990s. It would have been difficult to keep Hunter from Alabama had Kirby stayed with the Tide. That’s one less problem Georgia partisans have to worry about now.
Consider Alabama’s struggle recruiting the state of Georgia since Kirby arrived in Athens. Three in-state players have flipped from Alabama to Georgia. Alabama’s recruiting production has slowed significantly in Georgia of late - that’s for several reasons - but Kirby’s arrival in Athens has a lot to do with it.
So the Bulldogs get a UGA legacy - Hunter’s father played receiver at UGA, but his mother was a basketball player. So if anyone knows the meaning of Red and Black its Hunter.

Chad Simmons says: Will Hunter be a rush end, a stand up linebacker, or a true linebacker that plays on the second level in college? That is still up in the air, but what is certain is he is a football player with a lot of athleticism. Really comes off the edge well as a pass rusher with quickness and anticipation. Can run with the running backs out of the backfield. Can mix it up physically. A very high ceiling for Hunter with his size/athleticism/toughness combo.
