Dawg Post Wednesday Recruiting Update:

Dawg Post gives the latest on Georgia Bulldogs recruiting.

As I wrote the other day, Spring Valley (SC) defender Channing Tindall visited Georgia this past weekend, and left with an offer. Tindall admitted that meeting inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann was his favorite part.

“I love his directness.” Tindall said. “I know he expects the best out of all his players and doesn’t accept anything less. I’m looking forward to building a relationship and getting to know him better. I plan to catch a few spring practices and camp with them this summer to get a feel for his coaching style. I’m looking forward to it.”

The 6-foot-2 206-pound outside linebacker said he heard the most from South Carolina, Auburn, and Wake Forest at this time.

Cleveland Heights (OH) ATH Tyreke Smith was also recently offered by the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-4 255-pound defensive end is a four star prospect, and holds offers from Ohio State, Florida, LSU, Michigan, and many more.

2019 Atlanta native Rashad Cheney of Washington High School also received an offer today. LSU was the first to offer about two weeks ago, and now the Bulldogs have offered one of the top defenders in the state for the 2019 class. Peach state defensive lineman Travon Walker, King Mwikuta, Derrick McLendon, and Dante Walker are other 2019 lineman who have been offered by Georgia.

Another 2019 prospect to know is McEachern athlete Paris Brown. Brown is a versatile athlete who stood out early on during the True19 week in early January. He’s explosive at the running back position, and rushed for over 1,000 yards last year as a sophomore. He still needs to get bigger and stronger, but he’s a tough runner to bring down and plays much bigger than his size. South Carolina offered today, and more will come sooner than later. Look for him to have a major offseason during the camp circuit and a breakthrough season this fall.

A new prospect to know in the 2018 class is Alpharetta (GA) prospect Jaycee Horn. The rising senior has been offered by West Virginia, South Carolina, Colorado State, Minnesota, Indiana, Georgia State, among others. Not many players in Georgia have had a better recruitment the past two weeks than Horn. At 6-foot-1 17-pounds, Horn recorded 7 interceptions last year to go along with 25 pass breakups. Look for me schools to start offering in the near future.

Rome (GA) running back Jalynn Sykes had a big day today reeling in multiple offers. Minnesota, Purdue, Memphis, and Georgia State all offered the 5-foot-10 185-pound back. The rising senior rushed for 1092 yards on 110 carries and 16 touchdowns last season.

A quarterback to know in the 2018 class is Carver (GA) gunslinger Octavious Battle. The 6-foot-3 185-pound dual threat quarterback is mobile, has a strong arm, and shows great athleticism on film. He’s a three sport athlete who also plays baseball and basketball. While he didn’t light up the stat sheet, he still threw for over 2,000 yards with 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions. With some impressive camps this spring, more schools could start showing serious interest before his senior season.
