Dawg Post Wednesday Recruiting Update:

Dawg Post gives the latest news on Georgia Bulldog recruiting.

The Bulldogs were busy last night sending out multiple offers across the country. One of those offers went out to Alpharetta (GA) cornerback Jayce Horn. The son of former NFL player Joe Horn, the 6-foot-1 170-pound cover corner has seen his recruitment pick up tremendously in February, and now has an offer from the in-state school. Look for Horn to visit Athens soon.

Another in-state offer went to Hapeville Charter (GA) defensive end Kingsley Enagbare. Like Horn, the Atlanta native has picked up multiple offers recently including West Virginia, South Carolina, East Carolina, North Carolina, among others. The Bulldogs signed William Poole in 2017 out of Hapeville Charter and they are in a good spot to land 2018cornerback Christopher Smith as well. 2020 receiver Jermaine Burton should be getting a Georgia offer soon as well, after picking up offers from Florida and Auburn the past two weeks.

Back in January, the True19 group, made of the top sophomores in Georgia, all visited UGA together before the game. The visit was a huge success, and put Georgia close or near the top for some elite prospects. This same group will now be visiting Clemson this weekend. This group is very close, and 2019 prospects Owen Pappoe, Wanya Morris, Kenyatta Watson, Jaylen McCollough, and Ronald Thompkins all visited Florida, Florida State and Miami together last weekend. Look for the Tigers to offer some of these 2019 prospects on their visit.

Stratford Academy (GA) defensive end Tobe Umerah picked up a big offer from Alabama the other day. An athletic defender who can really rush the passer, Umerah is quickly becoming one of the top pass rushers in Georgia for the 2018 class. Adam Anderson is already in the fold at OLB and Brenton Cox is a major target who could play linebacker or defensive end at the next level. Umerah is on Georgia’s radar, but he does not currently have an offer. A Georgia offer soon would not be surprising. The Macon native was offered by Vanderbilt yesterday, and will be visiting Clemson this weekend.

Elite 2019 receiver Jadon Haselwood was in Alabama last weekend for a visit. The Bulldogs have done a great job getting in the race here and they are still in a great spot to land the one of the top 2019 prospects in the country. Alabama and Ohio State are also high on Haselwood’s list at this time.

Newton (GA) defensive lineman Darnell Jefferies has picked up offers from Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn, Louisville, and Oregon recently. He could possibly end up as the highest ranked defensive lineman in Georgia for the 2018 class, and he will be visiting Clemson this weekend. The Bulldogs are still in a great spot here moving forward.

2019 prospect Jaylin Simpson out of Frederica Academy was recently offered by Auburn and Oklahoma. He is one of the top true cornerback prospects in Georgia for the 2019 class, and while he might be slightly undersized, he does hold offers from the likes of Alabama and Ohio State. It’s only a matter of time before the Bulldogs pull the trigger.

2018 receiver target Josh Vann and 2019 defensive end Derrick McLendon both had a great visit to South Carolina this past weekend. The Gamecocks are making both a priority, and it looks like they are Georgia’s biggest competition for Vann at this time. South Carolina co-offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon recruits the state of Georgia very well, including Tucker High School, which has produced many Bulldogs over the years.

Elite 2019 DL Travon Walker is fresh off a visit to Alabama. He is a major Bulldog target and will likely take more visits, including Georgia, after basketball season.

Peach County (GA) receiver Kearis Jackson visited Auburn this past weekend. Jackson is still considered a Georgia lean, but the visit to Auburn certainly impressed him. Some of Jackson’s most recent offers have come from Oregon, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

Carver (GA) defensive back Quindarious Monday will be visiting Tennessee this weekend. He holds a Georgia offer, but the Bulldogs might have higher defensive backs on their board at this time. Georgia is still high on his list, and could be tough to beat if they make him a priority in the 2018 class. Auburn is another school very high on Monday’s list at this time.

The Troup County (GA) duo of 2019 outside linebacker King Mwikuta and 2020 athlete Kobe Huson were also at Alabama this past weekend. Both hold Georgia offers, and the staff is trying hard to get them both on campus again soon. The two will be visiting Clemson this weekend. Mwikuta grew up a Georgia fan, and the Bulldogs could be tough to beat in the end. Hudson has the potential to be a five-star athlete in the 2020 class.

2018 linebacker target Teradja Mitchell was also in Auburn this past weekend. He plans to visit his “dream school” LSU soon.

2019 linebacker JD Bertrand out of Blessed Trinity (GA) will be visiting Auburn this weekend. He is a great athlete who could play tight end as well at the next level. He was very impressive during the True19 week, and could see his recruitment pick up in a major way this offseason.
