Dwg Post Friday Recruiting Update:

Dawg Post gives an update on the latest news on Georgia Bulldog recruiting,

The Bulldogs extended an offer yesterday to 2020 defensive back Sheridan Jones. Then Bishop Sullivan Catholic (VA) athlete has good length at 6-foot-1 but needs to continue adding good weight. Jones held offers from Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee last year while picking up an offer from Alabama in late February. Tight ends coach Shane Beamer recruits his area and was the coach who extended the offer to the elite 2020 prospect. Jones admitted he doesn’t know much about Georgia, but knows they are a great program and would “love to see what it’s all about.”

The staff also sent an offer out to Parkway North (MO) defensive tackle Michael Thompson. The country’s 22nd ranked player, Thompson is a national recruit with offers from Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and many more. The four-star prospect moves very well for being 6-foot-4 290-pounds, and is a fore on the inside. The defensive line group in Georgia is not as deep as it has been in recent years, so look for the Bulldogs to go out of the state to land at least one but possible two major defensive lineman in this 2018 class.

A new prospect to know in the 2019 class is Lanett (AL) safety Trikweze Bridges. The 6-foot-3 175-pound athlete had good size, and while he looks like a defensive back long term, he could also line up at receiver. He has great ball skills and picked of a ton of passes last season as a sophomore. If a ball is thrown deep or thrown poorly anywhere in his direction, Bridges will come down with the ball. He high points the ball well in the air, and looks to make a big play as soon as he comes up with the turnover. Louisville has offered, and many more will in the future.

A 2018 running back to keep an eye on is Buford (GA) back Christian Turner. The 5-foot-10 185-pound back has recently picked up offers from Notre Dame, Oregon State, Nebraska, Michigan, and Virginia Tech in the past two weeks. The Bulldogs need to take two backs in the 2018 class, and while Zamir White is the top target for the first spot, it’s still uncertain on who exactly the staff will target with the second spot. Turner could end up being a target and a solid option down the road.
