Callaway (GA) athlete Cartavious Bigsby has seen his recruitment blow up the pas t two weeks. Only a freshman, Bigsby has picked up offers from Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Kentucky, South Carolina, among others. He was impressive Sunday during the Atlanta Opening, earning a top performer award at running back. At 6-foot-0 185-pounds, he’s a versatile athlete who could play on both sides of the ball at the next level.
The Georgia Bulldogs have not offered yet, but it could be coming in the near future. Bigsby has visited Georgia before in the fall, and knows running backs coach Dell McGee. The 2020 star admitted that an offer from Georgia would be a big deal in his recruitment. As of right now, Bigsby has a total of nine offers and is open to all schools.
Callaway running backs coach Matt Neighbors had some great things to say about his freshman back.
“He’s extremely hard nosed, runs with a purpose and tough to tackle.” Neighbors said of Bigsby. “Great burst, wants to score every time he touches the ball. I think at the next level he could be extremely successful on either side of the ball either at running back or safety.”
Look for Bigsby to pick up more offers throughout the spring. This Callaway team has plenty of young talent and should be fun to watch over the next few years. 2020 athlete Michael Robertson is also becoming a national recruit as a freshman, and like Bigsby, he can make an impact on either side f the ball. 2019 offensive tackle Keiondre Jones leads the way on the offensive line.
As for Bigsby, he plans to visit Auburn this weekend, and Georgia the weekend after.
