Once again, Athens was the destination for many top prospects this past weekend. Offers went out, and the Bulldogs are now high on the list of multiple top targets.
Johns Creek (GA) tight end Tommy Tremble is one of fastest rising prospects in the south, and the 2018 athlete picked up a big offer from Georgia on his visit.
“I’ve been a Georgia fan since I can remember. “ Tremble said. “I’ve probably been to Athens over 100 times because I’ve been there with my dad all the time. Coach Smart brought me in his office and offered me in person with my dad in the room too. When he did I held back tears because I’ve been a UGA fan since I was a child. Coach Smart and my dad were having a conversation like they were friend back in college.”
The Bulldogs could be tough to beat for the 6-foot-4 225-pound Tremble, but other schools aren’t giving up just yet. Tremble will visit Tennessee next week and South Carolina on the 29th. He also plans to be back at Georgia soon.
Another prospect in Athens this past weekend was Callaway (GA) athlete Cartavious Bigsby. The 6-foot-0 185-pound 2020 prospect has picked up offers from Alabama, Michigan, and many others recently, so the offer from Georgia was no surprise. The visit went for Bigsby went well, and he is likely to become one of the top prospects in the south for the 2020 class.
Another elite back in Georgia, Miller Grove back Deondre Jackson, was in Athens this weekend. Another 2020 prospect, Jackson has recently picked up offers from Alabama and Tennessee. Jackson left Athens without an offer, but he admitted that the visit was “electric” and that it felt like a “second home.” Look for the staff to offer Jackson sooner than later.
2018 outside linebacker Richard Jibunor also visited Georgia this week. The Athens native is raw, but looks the part physically, and did a nice job in 1 on 1s during the Atlanta Opening Regional. IF the Bulldogs offer and turn the heat up, Georgia could be tough to beat in the end. Auburn is in a great spot right now for the three-star linebacker.
The fastest prospect in the 2018 class, receiver Anthony Schwartz, is visiting Georgia today. The four-star speedster was at Auburn the past two days, and this is a great opportunity for the Bulldogs to jump in the mix. Florida, Auburn, and LSU have all done a great job recruiting Schwartz so far. The Bulldogs are taking three receivers in this class, and they are looking for speed on the outside. Look for the staff to roll out the red carpet today for the American Heritage (GA) playmaker.
