The Grayson Rams (GA) are a powerhouse program that produces elite talent every year. Their 2019 class alone is comprised of some of the country’s best prospects. One of those prospects is outside linebacker Kevin Harris. The 6-foot-4 208-pound defender looks the part physically, has great length, and trains with some of the best trainers in the state. He missed time last year due to an injury, but is likely to have a breakout season this fall. The up and coming prospect holds a Georgia offer, and he was in Athens this weekend to attend the annual G-Day scrimmage.
“The visit went well.” Harris said. “I got to sit down and meet some new people before the game. I’m familiar with most of the staff and I really felt welcomed. I spoke with linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker as soon as I got there.”
Harris sees a lot of similarities with how he plays now, and how he would fit into Georgia’s defensive scheme.
“Everything I’m being taught is also being taught at UGA.” Harris said. “It’s like everything I’m learning now would carry over. We always talk about that a lot. We talk about football stuff mostly. So far coach Sherrer likes me a lot. I feel important to them. They’re always checking on me.”
From April 2-6, Harris picked up offers from Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Maryland. He has the ideal frame for a pass rushing outside linebacker, and will be a top prospect in the south for the 2019 class. Look for more major programs to start offering sooner than later.
