Channing Toney is a combo point guard from Brookwood High School that has made a decision to cast his lot with the Dawgs.
"I went on an official visit this weekend, and I committed to Georgia yesterday," said Toney. "I got to see the campus when there were people there. I hung out with the players, and got to play a little pick up basketball up there. That was the first time I had been up there when school was in session."
"I really like Coach Felton and what he is all about. He is going to make things better. I also like that my family can come watch me since I'm only about 40 minutes away. And I just like the school. Even if I weren't playing basketball, this is where I would want to go to school."
Where does Toney fit into Georgia's plans?
"Some people have me at 6-4 and some have me at 6-5. I'm kind of being recruited to play a combo guard position. I play point for my high school team, and I play shooting guard for my AAU team, so I may play both."
Toney averaged 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as a junior last year.
