Weekend Visitor Update:

With summer here, the Georgia staff will do their best to get their top targets on campus, and this past weekend was a big success for the staff

As Dawg Post previously reported, Oklahoma native Owen Condon was in Athens and decided to commit to the Bulldogs on Saturday. The massive offensive tackle has family ties to Georgia, and it was a big offer when the staff extended one to him in March. Condon is Georgia's the sixth commitment in the 2018 class, and the fourth commitment in the past two weeks.

Another priority target, offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, was in Athens as well. The nation's eighth-ranked prospect has been a top Georgia target for years, and this is shaping up to be a Georgia/Clemson battle until Signing Day. Salyer is very high on the Tigers, so this visit was important for the Georgia staff. He is very close with head coach Kirby Smart, offensive line coach Sam Pittman, and many current Georgia players.

GAC (GA) athlete Kyler McMichael was also in Athens this weekend with his parents, and this visit was huge for both sides. McMichael is a top target for Georgia in this 2018 class, and will likely play defensive back at the next level. Multiple schools are in the mix here, and McMichael is set to decide this summer, so getting him on campus was important. The Georgia staff has really turned up the heat here over the past few months, and McMichael was given the red carpet treatment on his G-day visit. He was likely given the same treatment this weekend, and the Bulldogs are in the best situation they could ask for at the moment.

2019 linebacker target JD Bertrand was in Athens with his parents, and he is one of the top targets in the south.

"It was great." Bertrand said. "We sat down and spoke with head coach Kirby Smart, linebackers coach Glenn Schumann, and director of strength and conditioning Scott Sinclair. I got a better feel for UGA overall."

Bertrand will visit Clemson on Wednesday, and LSU at the end of June.

Callaway duo Cartavious Bigsby and Keiondre Jones were in Athens on Friday. Bigsby is an elite 2020 athlete who holds a Georgia offer and has visited Athens multiple times this year. He is close to running backs coach Dell McGee and while he's one of the top backs in the state, the Bulldogs worked him out at DB on his visit.

Jones is a top target in the 2019 class and will be a priority moving forward. Georgia offered him as a freshman and schools across the country have followed suit. This is starting to look like a Georgia/Clemson battle, but Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, and others are in the mix as well.

Other visitor notes:

West Forsyth (GA) tight end Ben Bresnahan visited Duke this weekend after visiting Tennessee earlier in the week. He recently visited Georgia and is on their radar, but the Bullogs have not offered.

Top Georgia target Marquez Ezzard will be visiting Florida State on Monday, June 12th.

Frederica Academy (GA) duo Jashawn Sheffield and Jaylin Simpson were at South Carolina for a 7 on 7 tournament. Both are 2019 targets.

2020 OL target Tate Ratledge was at South Carolina. The impressive OT visited Georgia the previous weekend.

2019 OL Warren McClendon of Brunswick (GA) was at South Carolina.
