"I didn't expect to get the ball like that at the goal line. But I got it and did what I could do," he said.
Lumpkin missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury.
"At first I had butterflies but then once I got the ball everything came back to me. I was thinking touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown," he said.
Lumpkin said that he is still adjusting to the college game.
"Right now picking up blitzes in the passing game is my number one goal," Lumpkin said. The transition from high school to college is something that he has had to deal with.
"It is a big challenge coming from high school going into a big game. You have to learn quickly. Everyone out there is much stronger and much faster," he said.
Lumpkin said that he is happy with his progress, "I feel like I did well."
