"Florida is a very tough opponent. We have to go to Jacksonville ready to battle against them. We haven't beaten Florida since 1997 and we have to prepare all week to be ready to play."
Davis, who is one of the featured players in November's Dawg Post the Magazine, has been coming on strong as of late. His play on defense has helped Georgia claim the spot as the number one defense in the country.
But this week that defense will be challenged by young Chris Leak. Leak has been up and down this season but has been playing more consistently of late. Davis says that playing Leak is like playing any other quarterback.
"I don't know what it will be like going up against Chris Leak. From what I have seen of him on television I can tell that he is a very good quarterback and he has a lot of poise to be a freshman. We are going to go out there and prepare for him just like anyone else," he said.
One thing that could make things more difficult for Davis and the rest of the Dawgs is the amount of injuries that are piling up on the defensive side of the ball. Decory Bryant is the latest Bulldog to be sidelined with a season ending injury.
"Its difficult dealing with the injuries because we have a lot of key guys that are not playing. Whenever you have guys out you have to have guys step up and play big for you and we have had a lot of guys step up and do what it takes to win games for us," Davis said.
