How they scored

A complete breakdown on the scoring, key plays and key stats in Georgia's 13-16 loss to Florida.

Both offenses managed quick first downs on their opening possessions only to stall, Georgia losing 17 yards on consecutive sacks and a hold stalling a UF drive before a missed field goal. A 63-yard punt by Florida's Eric Wilbur helped the Gators get out of a hole. The teams combined for only 77 yards on 25 plays.

Key stat: Georgia's offense managed only 27 yards on 15 plays, an average of 1.8 yards a snap, yet held a 9:20-5:40 time of possession advantage.

Georgia had sack problems, thanks to blocking as well as David Greene simply holding on to the ball way too long. Fred Gibson dropped a second pass. Tyson Browning left the game late in the quarter, but Kregg Lumpkin was an immediate spark with 21 yards in his first two carries. UF had to settle for a field goal after a long drive, helped by a tight unsportsmanlike call against Bruce Thornton on a 3rd-and-9 incompletion, allowing the Gators to forgo a 45-yard field goal attempt.
