It is a transition that some young players take to faster than others. Sometimes an impatient fan base can wonder "What happened to that All-American we signed last year? Is he not panning out?" As good as incoming freshmen can be they have a big transition from high school to college.
Defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder talked about what it is like for the newcomers.
"For most of them it is such a major change that as a coach you have to be patient and let them get a feel for the entire scope of the organization and how things work," said VanGorder. "Some of them do that quicker than others, but for a lot of them it's a shock."
The feature story on the Class of 2003 includes reports from Coach VanGorder and Strength and Conditioning Coach Dave Van Halanger as well as comments from some of the redshirting freshmen that you may have forgotten about like Marcus Howard, Richard Cook, Paul Oliver, Thomas Flowers, Coleman Watson and more.
Look for a feature article on David Greene as well as news about future and former Bulldogs.
