Ga's Top LB/FB discusses Oklahoma visit

Brannan Southerland discusses his visit to Oklahoma. He has come home with two leaders.

GAC standout Brannan Southerland took a trip west this weekend to check out the #1 ranked Sooners and came back impressed.

"It was a pretty cool experience. The whole thing was neat. I got to sit with Coach Stoops on Sunday and have a talk. Just seeing how the #1 team in the country goes about their business was really interesting."

Has the visit changed things in his top 5?

"I still like Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida State, Florida, and Auburn. I'd say that Georgia and Oklahoma have the advantage right now, but I'm not counting anyone out."

What have given the Dawgs and Sooners the advantage, and what part will distance from home, play in his final decision?

"I really love the coaching staffs at both places. They are both excellent programs," Southerland said. "Distance may very well play a factor. I realized that it's a long ways out there (Oklahoma)."

Southerland has been given the option by all of the schools recruiting him as to which position he'd like to play on the next level. What is he leaning towards right now?

"I'm pretty sure I want to be a fullback. I just think I'm a little bit better at that position than linebacker."

Brannan has yet to set any other official visits, and he may not take all 5. He is currently pointing to a commitment sometime in the month of December.

GAC is 7-2 on the season.
