Big DT walks you through his unofficial visit

Lorenzo Washington has set up four official visits, but this is still a two team race between Georgia and Alabama. Lorenzo walks us through his unofficial visit to Georgia last weekend for the Auburn game.

Big time DT Lorenzo Washington has been in agony for months now over whether to choose Georgia or Alabama. This weekend he took an unofficial visit to check out the Dawgs as they took on Auburn. What did he think?

"It was just flat out awesome. The game itself was great. Just complete domination by Georgia," said Washington.

Lorenzo takes us through his day in Athens...

"Well, we got up there about 11:00am. We met up with Coach Bobo and we went to the Butts-Mehre Building to check in. I got to go into Coach Richt's office and talk one on one. Then we went to grab a bite to eat, and boarded the busses for the Dawg Walk. We went through there, and then went on the field and watched warmups. A couple of friends I knew came down by the hedges and we talked for a little while. Me and a couple of other guys got to go into locker room for the pre-game pep talk. After that we went in the stands to watch the game. When it was over, we boarded the busses and went back to Butts-Mehre, and that was about it."

What was Washington's favorite part of the visit?

"The Dawg Walk was my favorite without a doubt. I had no idea that we would actually get to walk down the middle of all of those people. I figured we would just go watch the thing, but I was really surprised. People were just yelling my name and saying good things about me. They couldn't even see my name tag, yet they knew who I was. That was impressive."

What did Coach Richt tell Lorenzo while he was in his office?

"He kept telling me how much he wanted me, and telling me about the things I do well. He told me how they would mold me into a great player on the next level. After sitting down with him, I just think he's the best coach in the NCAA hands down. He knows so much, and knows how to talk to you."

Did Washington speak to any other recruits?

"I'm friends with Thomas Brown and Brandon Lang from Tucker. I just saw Thomas earlier this week at a thing with the Atlanta Touchdown Club, so we have become good friends."

What did Thomas and Lorenzo talk about?

"He says little things trying to get me to come to Georgia. He was telling me the same things he said at the TD Club. Talking about how he wants me in front of him whether he's at cornerback or running back."

What did Lorenzo think of Richt's pre-game speech?

"Man, he was just so intense. Getting the guys fired up. I've never seen that side of him, but he really had them ready to play."

How did his visit in Athens compare to his visit in Tuscaloosa?

"I've been to an Alabama game and it was great. Georgia was awesome too. Now that I've seen both of them at home, I want to check out the road atmosphere. I'm going to try and go to Alabama/Auburn in Auburn next week, and I'm going to go to Georgia Tech/Georgia in Atlanta also."

If Washington had to pick today, which school would he choose?

"Man, I just don't know. I really don't. It's honestly that hard."

The Grayson star has set official visits to Alabama on January 9th, Georgia on January 16th, South Carolina on January 23rd, and Duke on January 30th. His team enters the 1st round of GA AAA playoffs this Friday, on the road against Spalding.

Lorenzo is one of the best kids around, and he will make one coach in this southern Border War very happy in the future. As for now, this thing is far from over because Lorenzo is truly torn at this moment.

If you love recruiting, these are the types of battles you live to watch. TheInsiders will keep you up to date on every change in Lorenzo Washington's recruitment right up through his final decision.
