RB Emerges From Georgia

Kelvin German is now emerging as one of the top backs in Georgia.

A running back emerging from the state of Georgia is Kelvin German. German, from Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek High School, is off to a great start, rushing for over 700 yards and 8 touchdowns. Last season, he backed up J.R. Lemon (Stanford).

"J.R. pushed me a lot," said German. "He was a guy that I looked up to both on and off the field. JR taught me a lot, especially on how to handle myself."

German is a different type back than Lemon. Lemon is bigger, stronger and runs harder. German is 5-11 and 190 pounds (4.45 forty).

"I am elusive and I have more speed than power. But I have a little power and will use if the situation calls for it."

According to German, both Georgia and Georgia Tech have offered him a scholarship. "Georgia and Clemson are my favorite schools. I also like Northwestern. Georgia, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Syracuse, NC State and Middle Tennessee State are the schools recruiting me the hardest."

German camped at both Georgia and Georgia Tech this past summer.
