Dawgs' scout team the focus of practice

ORLANDO – Georgia continued its preparations for the Capital One Bowl Game today in Orlando.

"I liked it today. We had good tempo," said Georgia head coach Mark Richt.

Georgia will participate in the Capital One Bowl Two Minute Drill at The Groove at Universal CityWalk today. David Greene, David Pollack, and Coach Richt will all participate in the competition against a group of players representing Purdue.

Richt said the most of today's practice dealt with scouting Purdue.

"The majority of it was scout work. The scouts did a better job today than they did yesterday. They didn't do real well yesterday. Today they picked it up and gave us a better look," said Richt.

It seems that some of the scouting could be based on the way that Michigan played Purdue. The Wolverines beat the Boilermakers earlier this season.

Richt said, however, that the Dawgs might base some of their schemes for the New Year's Day game on Michigan's success against Purdue but that they are not willing to change everything in order to mimic the Big Ten school' success.

"We are not Michigan and are not trying to be Michigan," said Richt.

NOTES: Richt said that transfer center/guard Randall Swoopes will be joining the team in January during the spring semester. He is not with the team right now.

NOTE FOR FANS TRAVELING TO THE GAME: Traffic on Interstate-4 is terrible. Please allow yourself enough time to get to your destination. If your hotel is not in downtown Orlando please allow extra time to get to and from the Citrus Bowl. Traffic in the Disney area is particularly bad.

The game is very close to being sold out. The Citrus Bowl office still has tickets available as does Ticketmaster.
