The Final Four on Signing Day

It's signing day, and unless there are any last minute surprises, Georgia is waiting on four players: Brandon Miller, Michael Brown, Tony Bell, and Dannell Ellerbe. What are Georgia's chances with each, and what is my guess on where they end up.

Brandon Miller may be the biggest fish left on anyone's board. He is a five star prospect and the #1 defensive end in the country by TheInsiders.com. He is such a good athlete, that he could get a shot at wide receiver at the school he chooses. Georgia, Florida State, and Georgia Tech are the final three schools in contention. Miller is scheduled to make an announcement at 5:30 PM tomorrow. Miller County is typically Bulldog Country, and I see Miller picking Georgia on Signing Day.

Michael Brown committed to Georgia several months ago. He took a visit to Florida, and came back with more to think about. He committed to Florida last Wednesday, but he backed off of that commitment on Thursday and said it was 50/50. While it's hard to picture him making an announcement to someone other than the home state team on signing day, I think Florida wins this Border War.

Tony Bell was torn between four schools throughout this process. LSU seemed to be the early favorite, but the Bayou Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers have been eliminated. It's now down to a Border War between the South's oldest rivals. The Auburn Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs. The Tigers appear to have the home field advantage, but the Bulldogs are sending a safety to the NFL, and that is weighing heavily on the mind of Mr. Bell. This week he gave us every indication that he was going to choose Georgia, and that's my guess for today.

Dannell Ellerbe is the toughest nut to crack of this entire bunch. He is down between Georgia and Tennessee, and he either truly doesn't know, or he needs to be in the world's poker championships, because he isn't saying anything. The Bulldogs while a steady contender through January, never appeared to be one of Ellerbe's true favorites. However, the Bulldogs have hung around in the race, and they are going to sign Ellerbe's teammate Jamar Bryant. The Vols have historically recruited North Carolina well. Jamar Bryant may have been able to convince his teammate to join him in Athens. My Pick? Georgia.
