Carlos Thomas of Banneker is one of the top two sport athletes in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2005. He has speed to burn and will be a player to watch in both football and baseball.
Carlos Thomas had 20 catches for 411 yards and five touchdowns playing for
Banneker this year. Those are exceptional numbers considering Demarcus Johnson
also rushed for close to 2,000 yards for Banneker. Thomas' baseball numbers are
even more impressive. He batted .627 with 40 steals as a sophomore playing
second base and center field. Thomas definitely wants to play football in
"My first love is football," said Thomas, "so I definitely want
to go the college route. I went to a couple of games last year. I went to
Clemson/North Carolina, Auburn/USC, and Georgia Georgia Tech. My favorite teams
right now are Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Notre Dame, Indiana, Arkansas, and
Thomas' brother Lavon is at Georgia Tech, so don't count out the Yellow Jackets
Thomas will definitely be a player to keep an eye on this spring and fall.
