Camden County's Dalron Spead is CB to Watch

Camden County won the 5A State Championship in Georgia last year, and Dalron Spead was a big reason why. He talks about his favorite schools early in the process.

Dalron Spead (pronounced Speed) has the perfect names for a skill position player on the football field. Spead has plenty of speed to spare as he runs the forty in the 4.4 range. At 5-11 and 175 pounds, he has ideal size to play corner.

"A player that I compare my game to is Deion Sanders," said Spead. "I am very fast, and I close on the ball as well as anybody."

Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech have been sending letters to Spead, but he is looking at some different schools early in the process.

"My favorite team growing up was Georgia. My Top 5 right now is Oklahoma, Texas, NC State, Florida, and Georgia. I went to Florida vs. FAMU last year for the game."

Spead had 36 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, and 10 pass break ups as a junior on the top defense in the state at Camden County. With Kevin Patterson and Djay Jones graduating, Spead is going to be the leader in the secondary next year, a task that he is more than ready to take on.
