GA DT is one of South's Best

Brandon Perry of Hawkinsville, GA is one of the top defensive players in the south. He talks about his favorite teams early in the process.

Brandon Perry is going to be one of the most heavily recruited defensive players in the south this year. The Junior from Hawkinsville teamed with his cousin Charles Johnson to form the best defensive line in the state last year. So it's little wonder why Hawkinsville ran roughshod over its Class A opponents to a State Championship last year.

Perry was no secret to Hawkinsville opponents last year. He was voted Captain by his teammates as a freshman, and he was named All-State as a Sophomore. Perry finished last season with 94 tackles and 12 sacks, and he has one more season to wreak havoc on his opponents before choosing a college. Who are some of the teams involved?

"I haven't gotten any offers yet," said Perry, "but I get a lot of letters. Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are the teams I am looking at right now. I don't really have a favorite right now, but I do really like Georgia. It's the only place I have been so far. Georgia is the only campus I have been to, and it's the only place where I have gotten the chance to talk to the coaches and stuff."

Perry has won the respect of his peers, his opponents, and it's only a matter of time before the offers come pouring in for the athletic defensive tackle.
