Morris Loved UGA Visit

I just spoke with Derek Morris on his way home from his official visit to Georgia. The big OL, nicknamed "The Waffle" gave UGA rave reviews.

Hey Derek… how would you rate your official trip to Georgia?

"I would give it a 10," said Morris, from his cell phone on his way back to Charlotte. "It was a good visit. The best part was going out with the guys. We went dancing and I made some new friends. I went out to dinner with Coach Callaway (OL Coach) and we talked football. Georgia is a place I could see myself at. I feel at home there.

"Right now, I would say there is a three-way tie between Tennessee (12-14), Georgia (11-10) and Ohio State (10-6). I will visit Florida. I also like South Carolina, NC State and North Carolina."

Morris, now 6-6 and 350 pounds, bench presses 475, squats 710 and power cleans 315. He visited UGA with teammate CJ Pate, a defensive back prospect (story coming later on CJ). They were both hosted by George Foster and Jon Stinchcomb.

Morris plays for Charlotte (NC) North Mecklenburg High School. They face East Mecklenburg this weekend in the first round of the playoffs. Morris is one of the top offensive line prospects in the nation.

Big Derek will also make an official visit to "Countdown to Signing Day." He will be an in-studion guest for our first show on Saturday, November 24th. The show will air on Fox Sports Net South at 10:30 am eastern.
