Dawgs Scrimmage at Sanford

ATHENS – The defense had its way with the offense in today's scrimmage at Sanford Stadium.

Not that a dominate effort by the defensive would have been a surprise considering the talent on defense and the injuries on offense. Still, the offense held its own against the powerful defense today.

""It was a great day today. The weather was perfect and it was very competitive out there. Both sides had great moments. No on got hurt and you couldn't ask for a better day," said head coach Mark Richt of today's scrimmage.

The biggest news of the day is that AJ Bryant is moving to wide receiver full time now.

"He is exclusively a wide receiver," said Richt. "We are very short at wide receiver and he put on a show there Thursday. He turned everyone's head. After talking with him and his family we are going to move him to wide receiver. He is excited about the opportunity. People can see that he is a special talent."

Richt went on to say that the move could propel Bryant into playing time this fall.

"He'll know enough to play. I would be surprised if he doesn't play. But we will decide that in the fall," said Richt.

Today was the first day that Bryant did not wear a green non-contact jersey to practice. Richt said that Bryant had a few catches at today's practice.
