Monster DL Emerges in Georgia

Every week players emerge that I hadn't yet heard of that are blue chip prospects. Last week I found out about a guy that turned out to be right under my nose. Mam Nyang of Wheeler High School is about 5 minutes from my house, and he is going to help Wheeler become a busy place this year as coaches drop in all spring.

I had a Wheeler coach drop of video of Richie Rich to my house in February, and we sat down and watched it together. Rich is a player, no doubt about that, but I had to give the coach a hard time when two months role by, and I just find out about this monster defensive end they have in Mam Nyang.

I went over to Wheeler High School to pick up film on Nyang, and I got to meet him. He is easily 6-2 and some change and 250 pounds. He was lightning fast off the ball at defensive end, and he had a motor that wouldn't quit. He is relatively new to the game, and is not the refined player that Charles Johnson was, but he is a little bigger and has similar types of tools.

Nyang turned his ankle this spring and hasn't been able to compete in practice, but he has gotten plenty of looks so far as coaches have been flocking to Marietta.

"I don't really have any favorites yet," said Nyang. "My Top 5 right now would probably be Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Louisville, and UAB. I'm pretty open."

Nyang doesn't have any offers yet, but make no mistake about it, he will...
