Taylor will miss all of the 2004 season with a torn ACL and his situation puts Georgia behind the 8-ball in terms of depth.
Derrick White will likely be the starter at the Will spot for at least the Georgia Southern and South Carolina games. From that point on he will have to hold off Danny Verdun-Wheeler or even Marcus Howard.
The Will spot is totally up in the air but it will be White's position to lose in August's practices. He worked almost exclusively with the number twos in the spring so it's hard to tell if he will be ready to work with fellow starters Odell Thurman and Arnold Harrison. White is capable but if he can't get the job done there are several players at linebacker that have the potential to do so.
Depth Chart Shuffle:
Tony Taylor is out of the 2004 season meaning that Derrick White is the starter and Graydon, a redshirt freshman, will back him up.
Teams will try to take advantage of this spot on the Georgia defense. It won't work if White plays as well as he is capable of (he started against Clemson at middle linebacker and had 36 total tackles as the back up last year).
