Touching Base: Jeremy Lomax

Jeremy Lomax is one of the four very good defensive ends that Georgia signed in February, and he is looking forward to getting to Athens.

"I am fully qualified and ready to go," said Jeremy Lomax. "I am going to enroll at UGA in June for the Summer semester. I can't wait. I am currently 6'5 1/2 and weigh between 208-210. Coach Garner wants me at 235 in August".

Lomax is going up to Athens in June not only to get acclimated to College School work and Professors, but also, to gain weight and workout with the team.

Jeremy told me his latest 40 times were "4.6 and 4.65". He is working out hard, as he has been since he signed his LOI in February. After playing basketball for a few games Lomax decided it wasn't good for him and his body. He lost about 10 quick pounds during that time of

basketball, and since then, he has added 12 lbs of muscle. His workouts consists mainly of "reps", but his latest max on the bench was "280 lbs".

I asked Jeremy if he knew what number he was going to wear yet, and he replied "not sure, but I want my own number. I want the fans to remember that number for me, not someone before me."

When asked again what sealed his commitment to Georgia, it wasn't the usual answer of Coaching Staff, playing time, tradition: "It was the FANS! There was no number 2. There was no competition."

Jeremy Lomax is a great kid and he is someone all of the Georgia fans are going to love pulling for in the near future.
