Felton signs Younes Idrissi

ATHENS – Forward Younes Idrissi signed a national letter-of-intent to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.

At 6-9, Younes Idrissi is one of Georgia's tallest players. He joins Robert Dozier of Lithonia, Dave Bliss of Wassau, Wis., Channing Toney of Snellville and Sundiata Gaines of Queens, N.Y to make up Dennis Felton's class of 2004.

Idrissi is a native of Morocco and played last season for Massanuten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va. Idrissi also played in the NBA's Africa 100 Camp which features the top 100 players from Africa.

"We are thrilled to be able to add a player of Younes' ability to our team at this late date," said Felton in a statement released today.

"Younes is very talented, athletic and versatile. He has only been playing the game for roughly three and a half years, but he has already developed tremendous skills. Younes can score in the post, but he can also handle the ball and score with range facing the basket. What makes him more exciting is the fact that I believe he has tremendous potential to continue developing. I¹m really looking forward to coaching him."

Georgia lost in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament and in the first round of the NIT to end their 2003-04 season. The 2004-05 schedule has not been finalized yet.
