Dawgs Still on Top?

Charles Jackson is one of the top big men in the south for the class of 2005, and the Georgia Bulldogs have seemed to be in the lead for his signature since the very beginning. Are they still out front or has another school climbed to the forefront to make things interesting?

"My top five right now is Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma State, Maryland and Kentucky. All of them have offered, and I have 16 offers overall now. Georgia is still my favorite," Charles Jackson said.

Why have the Dawgs maintained their consistent advantage?

"It's the family atmosphere at Georgia. I've been up there so much that I feel like I have a relationship with all the players and the coaches."

What stands out about the other schools on his list?

Florida: "They are a rising team. They have a real good chance to go big here pretty soon."

Ok. State: "They are another team on the rise. They have a chance to become dominant."

Maryland: "That's one of my wildcard's right there. They have one of the best coaching staffs in the country."

Kentucky: "The things they need are there, they just need the talent now."

One of the reasons UGA may have staked out to such a huge early lead is that Jackson has yet to see any other places. Once that happens, things could very well change in his top 5.

"I need to take some more visits and check out other schools. Georgia is the only place I've seen so I'm going to try and take some other unofficials here soon."

What is most important for Charles in picking a school?

"Mainly it's how good the academics are. I'm thinking about majoring in accounting because there is a demand for that right now, and it's something I could really pursue after football."
