Three Offers and Leader for LB

With already close to 9 LB's claiming big time offers in the state of GA this year, it's quickly becoming apparent that this linebacker class of '05 may be one of the best that the Peach state has had at that position in some time. A name that sometimes gets overshadowed is Lavarus Dollar out of Dublin. He's here to serve notice however that he should not be forgotten, and three schools have already jumped at the chance to have him join their program next season.

"I got offered by Louisville, East Carolina, and Ball State so far," said Lavarus Dollar. "My top five is Georgia, Miami, Florida State, South Carolina and Auburn."

Is there an early leader in Dollars' mind?

"Miami is my favorite right now. They have been sending me a good bit of mail lately. Florida and Georgia are also recruiting me pretty hard."

Why has the Irish standout chosen to include the other four teams on his leader board?

Georgia: "It's really close to home for me, and I have family near there. My sister lives close to Athens."

Florida State: "I grew up liking them since a long time ago. I always watched them play."

S. Carolina: "They were the first school to really start recruiting me."

Auburn: "My friend Ryan Taylor played for them a couple of years ago, and he told me good things about Auburn."

What's most important for Dollar in making his collegiate choice?

"I want to see if a place has my major which it's Sports Medicine. I'm also looking at location, and whether or not I can get a little bit of playing time. I would like to play some my first year, but I don't mind redshirting either."

In the end, his recruitment might just come down to which of his favorites is first to offer the Central GA native.

"If I get an offer from a school in my top 5, I will probably go ahead and make a commitment."

With statements like this last one Lavarus made, he could very well be turning his recruiting marathon into a fast paced sprint. All that remains to be done now is wait to see which school will turn out to be the fastest in the end...
