1st Offers and Top 5 for Georgia DB

<b>Renaldo Warner</b> is a 5'10, 165 lb defensive back out of Newnan High School. Renaldo's coaches said they consistently time him in the 4.3's when running the 40. Renaldo is a powerful prospect who loves to make the big hit, and he has picked up his first offers.

"I work hard on the field and in the weight room" said Renaldo Warner. "I bench 350 lbs, squat 440 lbs and power clean 275 lbs."

He finished the season last year with 113 total tackles, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions and one touchdown.

Who was the first to offer Mr. Warner?

"I received offers from Ball State and Jacksonville State last week."

During the Spring a lot of college coaches came through Newnan High School, and since then the recruitment of Warner has picked up.

I am getting letters from a lot of ACC and SEC schools now after they came by and saw me perform on the field in person."

So which schools are showing Renaldo the most attention?

"Right now those schools would be Ball State, Memphis, Southern Miss and Clemson."

Warner already has set his schedule to attend camps at Clemson, Tennessee and Georgia this summer.

"I am looking to go to those camps and prove myself against the best talent."

Warner is making the move this season from cover corner to safety, and one of the reasons is because how physical he plays.

"My strengths are playing the run, getting up and jamming the wide receiver at the line and just plain out speed".

Does Warner have a top five in mind?

"My top five would be Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Memphis and Southern Mississippi."

Renaldo Warner should have no problem qualifying. He has a 3.1 GPA and is taking the SAT on June 12th.

Renaldo will have a chance to make an early statement as his season kicks off August 20th at Calloway Stadium against Defending AAA State Champion LaGrange.
