Georgia Pounds Tech 31-17

Powered by a 207-yard rushing performance by <b>Verron Haynes</b> and a school-record six field goals by <b>Billy Bennett</b>, the Georgia Bulldogs broke a three-game losing streak to Georgia Tech by the score of 31-17.

Haynes, who rushed for 192 last week in the victory over Ole Miss, gained 207 yards on 39 carries as the starter for the injured Musa Smith. He scored on a 3-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Senior cornerback Tim Wansley returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown to put the Dawgs up 28-17 with 8:49 left in the fourth quarter.

Bennett, who's struggled this season, showed incredible accuracy from long range with field goals of 40, 44, 28, 37, and 45 yards as he shattered the school record of four field goals in a game held by Kanon Parkman, Hap Hines, Kevin Butler among others.
