Georgia Linebacker Updates Top 5 with Leader

<b>"Tombo" Abanikanda</b> is an active linebacker prospect from Marietta, Ga. His leader remains, and he updates the rest of his Top 5.

Tokumbo Abanikanda is a linebacker out of Osborne High School in Marietta, Ga. Last year Abanikanda put up these impressive stats: 136 total tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one defensive touchdown. On offense he had 42 receptions for 721 yards and three touchdowns. Even with those nice offensive stats Tokumbo is being recruited strictly on defense.

"Recruiting is going well. I am getting letters from most schools in the South, the SEC, the ACC and some small schools. Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, Ball State, Arkansas, Wisconsin and Maryland are recruiting me the hardest right now. I am attending Georgia's three day camp, Auburn's three day camp, Georgia Tech's one day camp, and the Fellowship camp."

On his strengths and weaknesses, Abanikanda was very candid. "My strengths are my speed and vision, and my weakness would be tackling. I need to take better angles."

(Editor's Note - Interesting that he would feel that way, watching him on film, he is very instinctive from his linebacker spot, and made a ton of plays for Osborne - Scott Kennedy)

"My goals for this year are to be the leader of this team, win this Region and have 180+ tackles."

He definitely has the qualities and personality to be a leader. Tokumbo is the leader during the summer workouts as he possesses the strength to bench 350 lbs, squat 540 lbs and power clean 275 lbs.

So who is Abanikanda's Top 5?

"Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Maryland."

Does he have a Leader?

"Georgia is my leader."

Abanikanda is a strong, speedy linebacker that we will continue to keep up with this year through Signing Day. He has a GPA hovering near 3.0, and he will take the SAT later this summer.
