Newest Georgia Commitment Discusses Decision

As reported by The Devil's Den earlier today, quarterback Joe Cox made the switch from Duke to Georgia this afternoon. He discusses his decision to commit to Georgia and if he is done with the recruiting process.

"I went to the afternoon session for the camp yesterday," Joe Cox said Friday evening. "After the camp, Coach Bobo came up to me and said that Coach Richt wanted to speak with me and my father in his office. He offered me a scholarship. I told him that I wanted to go home and talk it over with my family and my coaches. I called up Coach Bobo today and committed to Georgia."

Cox had previously been committed to Duke, but he had always left the door open in case he changed his mind down the line. Is that still the case?

"I've always wanted to go to Georgia. That was the #1 school on my list. Before I committed to Duke, Georgia wasn't ready to offer me a scholarship, but they wanted me to come to their camp. When they offered me after camp, I thought it would be the best thing for me to commit to Georgia. I'm not taking any other visits or anything. I went to camp at Georgia last year, and I went to junior day this year. It's a great town and a great college atmosphere. I got to meet all of the quarterbacks that are there."

With recruiting done early in the process, Cox has bigger fish to fry as the signal caller for one of the premier high school programs in the country.

"I'm not going to any more camps or anything this summer. Now it's time to practice and work hard towards winning another state championship. That's our goal."

Georgia got a pretty good player from Duke in Ben Watson, and now the Bulldogs are hoping to strike gold with Mr. Cox.
