5-Star OL Torn Between Sports

Charles Jackson was recently named the #7 overall OL in the country and given 5-star status by TheInsiders. Despite all of that gridiron talent, Jackson may be just as good on the hardwood. Is there a chance that the big Tri-County star could pick basketball and actually quit football all together?

"I'm not guaranteeing football whatsoever. Basketball is my passion and I'm definitely going to play that in college. I have yet to decide, but I'm leaning toward actually doing both at the next level. Basketball is just the only definite so far," Charles Jackson said.

Who has the best shot to sign the big man now?

"In football my top 5 schools are Georgia, Miami, LSU, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. In basketball I like Auburn, Georgia Tech and UConn."

Do the Georgia Bulldogs still hold their position on top of the heap?

"Yes, Georgia is still my leader overall. I really like their football program and the basketball team uses the big man a lot."

Is there a coach(s) who has impressed Charles the most to this point?

"I like Coach Lebo at Auburn for basketball and I like Coach Johnson and Coach Richt at Georgia for football."

Johnson has spent his summer on the AAU basketball circuit and has not been to any football camps.

"We have tournaments in Indiana, Kentucky and Suwanee coming up. I just got home from the Top 100 NBA camp and that was a big honor. I did real good and I think they rated me a 92 overall. The highest score given was like a 98."

What is the Buena Vista native looking for most in a school?

"I want to see how I fit in. I want an offense with a good inside out game and one that utilizes the big man. I may end up having to be a late signee because there are alot of factors I have to look at with both sports."

Charles Jackson will be an interesting story to watch in class of '05.
