"He is doing well," said Richt of his backup quarterback.
Richt said that Shockley seems to be recovering well from last seasons' knee injury.
"His knee seems to be fine, and he is throwing well. He has a great attitude. He had a great semester in the spring. I think that he had a 3.79; he is really doing great in school," Richt said.
Shockley reportedly is near graduation and with two more seasons left in Athens, he could start graduate school classes soon. On the gridiron, Richt said that the junior will be used as much as possible, if he can stay healthy.
"We will try to do what we have been doing in the past, but we have not been able to do it as well or as often as I would like because he has been banged up a lot the last two seasons. We'll have a plan to play him as a quarterback," said Richt.
