A defensive line prospect getting hot in the state of Florida is Broderick Bunkley from Tampa (Fla.) Chamberlin High School. Bunkley, 6-4 and 260 pounds, plays both defensive tackle and end. And according to Bunkley, he has some serious scholarship offers.
"South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, Rutgers, Indiana, Kentucky and LSU are some of the schools that have offered me," said Bunkley. "Florida State, Florida and Miami are now starting to call. I recently sent FSU and Florida some tape. Miami and Florida are showing the most interest and I think Florida is on the verge of offereing me a scholarship.
"Right now though, Miami is my favorite team. It is a private school that is smaller. I can get a great education and it looks like a great place to live."
Bunkley likes the Big Three in Florida, plus Michigan State. He visited the Spartans in October. "It was a nice visit. I like Coach (Bobby) Williams. He is real down to earth. It is also a nice college town."
Bunkley is a quick player with great strength. He bench presses 385 pounds and dead lifts 550. "I love rushing the passer and I prefer to play defensive end.
"I want to find a school where I can be challenged by other great players. In other words, I want to go to a school with players that play hard. I figure, that will make me a better player. I want a challenge."
