Watkins to Play Tonight

Pat Watkins injured his knee last weekend but he should play tonight in the state championship.

Lincoln High School takes on St. Thomas Acquinas tonight for the state championship at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. They will be with star safety Pat Watkins. Last weekend, it was believed he tore his ACL in the semi-finals.

"Pat will play tonight," said Lincoln assistant coach Tony Collins. "He hurt his knee but it is OK. He will wear a brace tonight and play."

According to Collins, Watkins and teammate Greg Threat were both scheduled to officially visit Athens and the University of Georgia this weekend.

"They are not going," said Collins. "They will re-schedule. Pat's mom could not make the trip."

Watkins has scheduled visits to Georgia Tech (12-14), FSU (1-11), Miami (1-18) and Southern Cal (1-25).
