1st Visit Set for Georgia Linebacker

One of the nation's quickest defensive prospects and a member of TheInsiders.com National Hot 100 is Antonio Clay from Jeffersonville (Ga.) Twiggs County High School. Clay, a four-star linebacker, plays defensive end in high school. He's a cat-quick pass rusher and a tremendous athletic talent. He has one visit set already, and he knows three others that will get visits for sure.

"I will play where ever I can help the team out," said Antonio Clay. "I do feel like I am a great pass rusher and I can affect the game."

Twiggs County is off to a 2-1 start and Clay has 28 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles and two sacks already in '04.

"I feel like I am really playing well. This is going to be a great season for me. I feel un-blockable and quick off the edge."

Clay had committed to Oklahoma early in the recruiting process but has since backed off the commitment to the Sooners. "I kind of got caught in the moment. But I do love them. OU has tradition and a great family atmosphere." Clay will make his official visit to Norman this weekend for the OU/ Houston game on Saturday night.

Other teams on Clay's school list are LSU, Miami, Georgia and Maryland.

"I will visit Miami for sure. All they do is win and I want to be a part of a winner.

"I will also visit LSU. They are a powerhouse that I would love to be a part of.

"I will visit Georgia for sure. It is close to home and they have great fans.

"The Maryland coaches seem great. They seem to have a family atmosphere up there."

This weekend Twiggs County plays Montgomery County. Twiggs Co. is ranked No. 3 in Class A.
