4 Star DL Back from Clemson/Tech Game

Roderick Battle is quickly moving up the charts as one of the premier Peach State players this year. This quick, strong defensive lineman was able to take in his first college game this past weekend up at Clemson. What are his thoughts and has this visit put Clemson on top?

"It was pretty nice…" said Roderick Battle.

"It was the first game I have been to and it was fun. I got to see the tailgating, fans before the game and all that. I also got to tour the facilities, locker room and then talk to Coach Bowden."

Battle had had Clemson, Auburn and Georgia as his top three for a while now, but Auburn and Georgia have held the lead. Did this visit pull Clemson up there with Auburn and Georgia?

"Nah, Auburn and Georgia still lead Clemson. I plan on going to Auburn this weekend for the LSU game and then turn around and go to Athens to watch Georgia host LSU two weeks later."

Battle is pushing ten sacks after only three games this season, and as quickly as his sacks are coming, his stock is rising right with it. Remember, Mr. Battle only played two games last year due to a transfer rule, so he did not get a lot of notoriety or exposure. This year, he continues play after play to fill the eyes of college coaches, scouts and most of all, opposing teams with big time plays making up for the time he lost last year.

Battle may have his decision shortly after he returns from Georgia on October 2, 2004, so make sure you stay right here with TheInsiders.com for all the latest.
