Q&A With Georgia's Newest Commitment

Georgia has gone into South Florida for two commitments in as many days. Donovan Baldwin is a man of few words, but I caught up with him for a quick Q&A about his commitment to Georgia.

Scott Kennedy - What was the main reason you chose Georgia?
Donovan Baldwin - I like the coaches there. I love Coach Van Gorder and Coach Richt. I like the campus and the surroundings there.

SK - I heard you had an impressive showing at Georgia's Camp. What did they time you in the 40?
DB - I ran a 4.37 on the turf field there.

SK - When did you get your offer from Georgia?
DB - They offered me this month.

SK - What position is Georgia looking for you to play?
DB - They want me at corner.

SK - Have you been to any college games? Do you plan to go to any more?
DB - I went to the Miami/Louisiana Tech Game. I want to try and get to a Georgia game, but I'm not sure which one yet.

SK - How is your season going so far?
DB - We're 3-0 right now. I'm playing safety, receiver, and kick returner. I have four interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. I also have one kick return for a touchdown.

SK - Who were some of the schools you had gotten calls from this month other than Georgia.
DB - Auburn had called. So had Connecticut and Iowa.

SK - Did you get to go to any other summer camps?
DB - No, Georgia's was the only other one I went to.

SK - Are you planning on taking any official visits, or just the one to Georgia?
DB - I'm just going to Georgia. I'm not going to take any other visits.

More importantly, Baldwin said that his family and teammates are safe from the hurricanes that have been thrashing the state of Florida the past six weeks. They will take on Gulliver Prep this week.

Baldwin Carries a 3.0 GPA and will take the SAT in November
