National Hot 100 DB Down to 5

Michael Ray Garvin, one of the top athletes on the east coast has narrowed his list to five teams. This athlete who plays both running back and corner back in high school is being recruited to play strictly corner in college. Garvin is coming off his first official visit to Florida State last Saturday. How did that go and what two teams lead for his services?

"Florida State was very nice. It was everything I expected it to be," said Michael Ray Garvin.

"I got to see the Bobby Bowden statue ceremony and then watch the Clemson game. It was a good visit and I liked it a lot. I talked to Coach Bowden for a while and that was nice. I feel very comfortable around him and their program. It was my first official visit, so now I have something to compare the others to."

When does he plan to take the rest of his visits?

"I will be taking my official visit to Georgia on October 9th when they play Tennessee. It will be my first trip down to Athens and I am really looking forward to it. I have developed a great relationship with Coach Martinez (Defensive Back Coach) and I am ready to get down there and see the University of Georgia."

"The rest of my visits have not been set up yet, I plan to take my other three official visits to Oklahoma, Colorado and Rutgers. I will take all five during the season and then have my decision shortly after the season."

Does this National Hot 100 player have a leader?

"Not really…Georgia and Florida State may stand out a little more right now, but I am really considering all five schools right now. The visits will tell me a lot about each program."

This speedster is off to a good start with 334 yards rushing and one interception in the first two games. Garvin has lead Don Bosco Prep School to a 2-0 start in 2004. will keep you up to date on all the visits and recruiting info on this New Jersey Standout.
