5 Star Linebacker Back from Official Visit

Recruiting is heating up when the Nation's best begin to take their official visits. Madison, Florida's Eugene Hayes is one of the best linebackers in the country and he took his first official visit of the season to The University of Georgia this past weekend. How did the visit go for this National Hot 100 player and could this put the Dawgs on top of his list?

"It was really, really good…to be honest, it was great," said Eugene Hayes.

What did Hayes do during his time in Athens?

"I got to go out on the town with some of the players ,and that was a lot of fun. My host was Antonio Sims, we got along real well. I walked around the entire campus with some of the coaches and players. I got to meet guys like Thomas Davis, David Pollack, Odell Thurman, Reggie Brown and Kedric Golston. I then went to the Academic Center and toured the new dorms too. Both of those places were top of the line. The Dawg Walk kind of blew me a way. All those fans were just crazy. The game went really well for Georgia, they really put it on LSU. After the game, I got to go back out with the players and we hung out in downtown Athens. I sat down Sunday morning with Coach Richt, VanGorder and Garner for a good while and talked about how I would fit in the system and all that. It went really well."

How would Hayes rate the trip to Georgia?

I would say a 9 ½ on a scale 1-10. I really thought about committing, but I thought I owe it to myself to take a few more visits first. The fans were off the chain. It was crazy, loud and overall, it was an amazing trip."

Speaking of visits, when and where will Hayes go next?

"I am headed to USC on October 15-17 to take an official there."

What other schools is Hayes considering right now?

"Other than Georgia and USC, I will visit Tennessee and North Carolina State. Those four teams are it for me right now. I would say USC has a slight lead over Georgia right now."

Hayes, one of the top linebackers in the country, sat beside another top linebacker during the game. That was Tray Blackmon…Hayes said he and Tray hit it off well and talked about being the best linebackers in the country.

Hayes says he is leaving the state of Florida and he will visit defending National Champions in two weeks, so make sure you keep a watch out on all the Eugene Hayes info right here at
