Florida LB Names New Top 5 and Leader

Jupiter, Florida is the home for linebacker, Jamar Chaney. Chaney worked hard all summer for his senior year, but, due to the Hurricanes that hit Florida last month, he has only played one game. The weather has not slowed the offers from coming in, though. Chaney has picked up a few new offers in the last few weeks and he names a leader.

"I am just ready to play," said Jamar Chaney. "The weather has really put a damper on my senior year. We have missed three games because of the weather and, they will not be made up. We are now 1-0 and only have six games remaining."

What offers has Chaney picked up recently?

"South Florida, Rutgers, Maryland, South Carolina and West Virginia have all offered me in the last couple weeks. Those are all written offers. Florida and Tennessee have offered me verbally and they told me the paperwork would come soon. Those offers add on to Georgia, Connecticut, North Carolina State and Florida Atlantic to bring my total to nine official offers."

How does his list of favorites look after all these new offers?

"My top five right now would be Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Florida State. Georgia is my leader right now, though."

Why does Georgia lead for Chaney?

"They have been on me from the beginning. They were one of the first teams to offer me and that sticks with me. I have been up there to Athens two times and I really like it up there. I also really like Coach VanGorder. We have a great relationship."

Does Chaney plan to take all five visits?

"Right now I do, but you never really know."

"I will be in Georgia this weekend when they play Tennessee, but that will be an unofficial visit. I have already been to Florida State and South Florida on unofficials too."

In his only game this season, Chaney had twelve tackles and two sacks. They will get back into action this week for game number two.

Chaney is set to take the ACT later this month.

Chaney is a player to keep a watch on this season. Hopefully, the rough weather is behind and he can get back to his senior year. Look no further than TheInsiders.com for the latest on Mr. Chaney.
