"Georgia is my new leader," said Jeffrey Owens.
Owens is a member of the South
"I had been leaning to Miami early, but they haven't been on me as much
lately. Then it was Florida State, but now it is Georgia. They are my new number
one. They just have so much to offer."
What does Georgia have to offer that has pushed them above the Hurricanes and
"I really like the entire package. The coaches are great, they are really
down to earth and easy to talk to. Playing time is there for me at Georgia. I
felt like it was a good fit for me when up there last weekend. They just seem
like the best place for me right now."
Coach Lilly of Florida State was the first to visit Mr. Owens house earlier this
week, but last night, Georgia came knocking.
How did the visit go with Georgia?
"I loved it. It was a great visit. They sent four coaches (Richt, VanGorder,
Garner and Martinez) down to see me and that means a lot. My family and I really
loved the visit. It was great."
Owens took his first official visit of the year to Georgia last weekend. He now
has Oklahoma (12/17), Miami (1/21) and Florida State (1/28) visits remaining.
"The Miami and Florida State visits may be changed a little, but that is
the schedule right now." said Owens.
Florida State's Coach Lilly was first in the house to see Owens, then Georgia
came through last night, but Florida State is back again tonight with Coach
