Dawgs Add Another Member of the South Hot 100

Jamar Chaney of Fort Pierce, FL has had Georgia on his mind for a while now. He took his official visit to Athens last weekend and that was the icing on the cake. Chaney has chosen The University of Georgia to be his college football destination.

"I am a Georgia Bulldog," said Jamar Chaney, a member of the South Hot 100.

"I committed to Coach Richt just a minute ago. They came to see my Mom and I this morning and I knew if she loved them as much as I did then I was going to commit. It worked out that she had the same feelings as me and I am now committed to Georgia."

Chaney adds to why Georgia was the perfect fit…

"They have been my leader for a while. Ever since I went up to their camp and got an offer from Coach Van Gorder. They were the first to offer me and have really recruited me hard ever since. They show the most interest in me and they let me know how important I am to them. I have a great relationship with Coach VanGorder and he will be my position coach. Last, their facilities are top of the line and they have a great campus. It is just the best place for me."

Who did Chaney choose the Dawgs over?

"Tennessee, Maryland and South Carolina were some other schools I was considering."

In a total of seven games this year Chaney had 71 tackles, ten sacks, twelve tackles for loss, and one interception that was returned for a touchdown. He also had three touchdowns when playing tight end.

"Georgia was leading when I left camp in July and they have been on top ever since," added Jamar Chaney.
