"Georgia has a Slight Lead..."

Jeffrey Owens, a four star defensive lineman by Scout.com out of Plantation, FL., is one of the top recruits in the south. Owens took a surprise official visit this weekend to Virginia Tech. He talks a little about his trip to Blacksburg and names his leader.

"I decided at the last minute to take an official up to Virginia Tech" said Jeffrey Owens.

What stood out to Owens during his time at Virginia Tech?

"It was a pretty good trip. I liked how the players were so close, and how they were such a tight group. My host was Carlton Powell, and he was cool. The campus was alright, and I enjoyed myself. It was a pretty good visit."

This Florida defensive tackle had a busy week as he held in home visits with Florida State, Miami, and NC State. This week will be even busier…

"Auburn will be in tonight to see me, then Georgia on Tuesday, Oklahoma on Wednesday, and Virginia Tech on Thursday."

Does Owens have a leader?

"I like Georgia, Florida State, NC State and Miami, but I would have to say that Georgia has a slight lead on the rest. I just feel like I relate to the players and coaches best at Georgia right now, and that is why they have the advantage."

This highly touted defensive lineman out of Florida has a busy week this week and will cap that week off with his next official visit. That visit will be to Oklahoma.
