Could South's Top RB Visit Georgia?

Countdown to Signing Day on Fox Sports and Sunshine featured Antone Smith as the #1 offensive player to come out of the seven state championship games over the weekend. With the season now over, Smith can focus on his recruiting. He has set one visit, and he could visit Georgia in January.

"I'm going to Auburn this weekend," said Antone Smith. "I'm also looking at Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, LSU, and Georgia. Those are some of the other schools I may visit. I'm not sure which of those I'm going to visit yet."

Any favorites among those six teams?

"No not really. They're all pretty even. We just got done with the season, and I haven't really focused on recruiting too much yet."

And what a season it was. Smith helped his Pahokee team to a State Championship with an MVP game in which he ran for 276 yards. He was named Mr. Football in the state of Florida for his 2004 season in which he rushed for 2,814 yards and 44 touchdowns.

What is he looking for in a college to help make his choice?

"I'm mainly looking at what a school can do for me after football. I want to major in something like Sports Management. Something in sports; I know that."

Smith is the #2 ranked running back in the country by Scout.com, and he has a host of local honors and a State Championship to boot. He's going to have a long future ahead of him on and off the field.
