Thomas: Rucker says he'll miss Georgia

ATHENS – Running Backs Coach Ken Rucker is leaving Georgia to take the same job at the University of Texas.

"He is going to miss everyone from here," said senior fullback Jeremy Thomas of his old position coach. Thomas said he spoke with Rucker last night. Thomas is in Florida preparing for a college all-star game.

"I am happy for him," said Thomas. "He said that we he would miss us when he called me last night and let me know."

Ken Rucker has served as the Bulldogs' running backs coach since 2003.

"He is going to be missed because he's such a good man," said the fullback. Thomas indicated that Texas could be the final coaching spot for Rucker – if things go as planned for the Tennessee native.

"He was at Texas A&M and I think they like it out there. I think he thinks it's the best move for him and his family," said Thomas.
