"I'm Signing With Georgia"

Jeffrey Owens, a big defensive tackle out of Plantation, FL gave the Georgia Bulldogs a verbal commitment back on January 2, 2005. Since then, he has taken a visit to Florida and things have gotten a little cloudy about how solid Owens is to Georgia. Owens talks to Scout.com about just how solid he is…

"I am signing with Georgia", said Jeffrey Owens.

"Georgia was the first place I really had that feeling at and that is where I am going. That is where my heart is and I am a man with integrity. I am sticking to my commitment."

"All my boys, Jamar (Jamar Chaney), Bryan Evans, Mike Moore and Donovan (Donovan Baldwin) are heading up there and I am not going to let them down. I love them too much."

Monday night Bobby Bowden of Florida State made a visit to the Owens' home and last night, the Georgia Coaches (Martinez and Garner) came in. Tomorrow night, Coach Meyer and Coach Holiday of Florida will be by. What is going through Owens' mind this last week before signing day?

"I am so ready to get this over with. I am going to take this last visit to Florida State this weekend, but nothing is going to change my mind about Georgia. I am just ready to sign next week and get it all done."

"I have my football banquet Friday night and then I am heading to Florida State for my last visit. After that, I'll sign with Georgia on Wednesday and it will all be over with. I am feeling some pressure to stay home and play for Florida, but I have to do what is best for me and that is to play at Georgia."
