Class of 2006 Spotlight: Brandon Wood

Brandon Wood (6-1/240) of Haralson County is a wrecking ball on both sides of the line of scrimmage. He is a punishing running back with the speed to take it the distance after breaking through the line of defense, and he is a defensive end that lives in opponents' backfields.

As a junior Brandon Wood totaled 1,153 yards and 14 touchdowns, and he added 104 tackles and 14 sacks on defense. He has the size and speed to play several different positions, including being a huge linebacker that fits the role of the 260 pound backers in the NFL.

Wood was a standout at the Kennedy/CES Invitational in which he clocked a terrific 4.51 shuttle and a 4.69 forty time. Both times were among the best for players of his size, and maybe his most impressive test on the day, the standing broad jump that fell just shy of 10 feet even with 110 inches.

Wood currently lists his favorite teams as Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, and Wisconsin, and you can bet teams from across the country will try and get in the door on him as well.
